Following a meeting in Norway between Social Services Consellera Alicia de Miguel and Ped Ditlev-Simonsen, the Mayor of Oslo, it was revealed that a special Norwegian Social Services Centre would be built on the outskirts of Altea.

Dr de Miguel added that the construction of the centre would be financed by Oslo Town Hall, and follows on from a decision four years ago to build a geriatric centre for Norwegians in the Garganes area of Altea. It was this experience coupled with the excellent Altea climate that has led to the new centre being unveiled.
