The Valencian banking entity Bancaja yesterday revealed that it had managed to secure profits of 99 million Euros for the first quarter of this year, an increase of 17.6% over the same period of 2006. The bank has apparently managed to reach this figure by increasing its credits to clients to over 71 million Euros, despite operating a ‘prudential’ policy that has enabled the bank only to have a 0.56% ration of bad debtors. The Bank also revealed that ‘the market is starting to show signs of difficulties, such as a slight delay in clients fulfilling payment obligations.
