What is Horchata?

Horchata or Tiger nut milk is a refreshing and nutritious vegetable juice with a high starch, fat, sugar and vitamin content.  It is prepared by pressing and sifting the tubers, and then by extracting the juice and mixing it with water and sugar.  Finally it is refrigerated and iced.
Alboraya offers its visitors a very special welcome.  At the "Avenida de la Orxata" (Horchata Avenue) the highest number of "horchaterias" ever is concentrated.  There you can enjoy the taste of this typical product of Alboraya all year round.  Accompanied with "fartons" (long and sweet buns), this drink can delight even the most demanding palates.
