Javea Festival

Javea Festival

From the end of August Javea (Xàbia) celebrates one of its main feast days, the patron saint feast day in honour of the Mare de Déu de Loreto (Mother of God of Loreto), with which in the first week of September it concludes the festive cycle of Javea.

The Parroquia de Aduanas del Mar (Parish of Sea Customs), a church situated next to the port, is the setting for the celebrations.

The singer Manu Tenorio, fireworks displays, floral offerings, correfocs (a celebration whereby the public runs into the fire thrown out by devils), chocolatadas (hot chocolate parties), storytelling, bous a la mar and games of Valencian pelota make up the programme of the most seaworthy fiestas of Javea.
