Details of the Blue Flags for the beaches and ports of the Valencian Community were released yesterday from the European Union.
Overall the Community has lost the Blue Flag for two beaches – Les Rotes in Denia and Nord of Peñiscola, whilst also losing the Blue Flag for the ports of Greenwich in Villajoyosa, the Royal Club de Regatas in Alicante and the Marina International in Torrevieja, but adding the Cabo Roig Port in Orihuela.
All in all across the Valencian Community, a total of 92 beaches and 14 ports obtained the Blue Flag, which according to Esteban Gonzalez Pons, the new Conseller for the Territory ‘ means that we have the best beaches along the Mediterranean coast’.
